IMPORT AUDIO FILES FROM A DIRECTORY

The second importing technique is to point to a directory that has audio files.

To import files from a directory, go to FILE >> IMPORT >> AUDIO

Then you will navigate to the directory that contains the audio files.

After you select your directory, the next screen will display the files found. (see image below).

At the minimum, you will need to have track title, track type, and genre filled in before you can import any tracks.

the SET TRACK TITLE TO FILENAME will populate the title column with the audio filename.

the IMPORT ALL check box allows you to select/deselect all the tracks for import.

the SET AS COMPLETED checkbox lets the system know that you have all the information that you need for the tracks you are importing. If you are going to come back at some point to fill in the rest of the data, we highly suggest you make sure that the Track Complete checkbox is NOT checked. These tracks will be flagged and you will be able to get to them through the TAG INCOMPLETE TRACKS section.

The VALIDATED checkbox tells the user that all the required fields are filled in correctly.

You can do a mass update by highlighting multiple tracks and clicking the EDIT TRACKS button. Once you do that, you can now fill out the meta data for the files selected and it will be applied globablly. Three fields are mandatory: track title, track type, and genre.

Once you have successfully filled out all the required fields (and more, if you would like), you can now click the Importbutton. If the import button is disabled, it means that your data is not formatted correctly or you do not have all three required fields filled in.
